ABOUT ADAM
MINA COMMUNICATIONS established the August Dance Awareness Month (ADAM) campaign/initiative in 2008 to create more dialog in the San Diego
dance community, educate the public about the various challenges in the local dance community, and help stimulate year-round
dance performance patronage.
Mina Communications and Dance San
Diego Magazine partnered during the inaugural year of ADAM and numerous endorsements were received from parties such as Congresswoman
Susan Davis, the California Arts Council, the San Diego Commission for Arts & Culture, National Dance Week, the California
Dance Network, Dancers' Group, Dancer Magazine, and numerous others.
After creating and promoting dance events for the public and communicating local dance community
issues using outlets such as News Releases, Email Blasts, Websites, Flyers, Newspaper ads, and TV coverage, the results showed
that to truly make a difference in the San Diego dance community, an ongoing aggressive PR and
Advertising campaign is necessary. To accomplish this, financial support from sponsors is imperative.
